This TechSoup user is a newbie to Cisco PIX 501 and needs help. All data center servers at his company are behind a Cisco PIX 501, and he is not sure how these were originally configured.
The user has installed Advenet Application Manager in one of the data center’s Linux machines to monitor clients’ servers. The development team has installed JBoss on the client server and wants to monitor this server through the monitoring software.
The client has allowed full access to the monitoring server’s IP, and now the user needs give full access to the the client server’s IP.
He’s tried the following command:
access-list outside_access_in permit tcp any host 202.87.xx.xxx
202.87.xx.xxx (IP of the monitoring software)
However, he needs to know what other commands are needed to allow full access to all ports to the client server.
