This TechSoup user is looking for a router to serve a main office. This office serves fifteen employees maximum, though usually less logged in at one time. Currently the office uses MailStreet Exchange Email via internet and a Windows 2003 server on a local network that is doing IP Routing, DCHP, and VPN service. These are all connected to QWest DSL 7MB up and 786kb down. The user would like to offload the Routing, DHCP, and VPN to a dedicated router appliance that does that handles these functions plus firewall protection in one device.

The office also has a small remote location with six users who need to VPN into the main office for authentication and data access. No applications are running over the VPN link. The remote office has its own DSL connection and small Netgear router.

This TechSoup user is looking for telephone survey software for an organization that can be used with patients as a customer satisfaction survey. In particular, the user is looking for interactive voice response and Interviewer for Telephone (CATI) features. The user would also like the software to include call center support to aide in the facilitation of automated telephone surveys.

This TechSoup user is having a problem with FSMO roles using Active Directory. The first domain controller (DC1) shows and thinks it is the FSMO. The second (DC2) and third (DC3) domain controllers point to DC1 as the FSMO. When the user tries to create a new user, group, computer, etc., the user receives RID errors, saying a RID master can’t be found. The user is able to create new users, groups, etc. in Active Directory on DC2 and DC3, even though these point to DC1 as the FSMO. When the user attempts to transfer of the five roles to DC2 and DC3, the user receives the error message,”Cannot find the PDC emulator.”

Has anyone done a successful seizing of any of the five roles with the Ntdsutil.exe command line utility?

This TechSoup user would like to know how to configure Exchange 2003 to block top level domains such as .ca, .tz, etc. without using a third-party solution. The user is familiar with how to utilizing the sender filtering settings for a particular email address or domain, however, but would like to know how this can be accomplished correctly for a top level domain.
