Does the Microsoft program support accounting by program (called “classes” in QuickBooks)? Does it have time allocation by account and program for payroll expenses? This TechSoup user is considering making the switch to Microsoft Accounting Professional, but needs an answer to these two key issues.

The licensing renewal is up in two weeks for this TechSoup user’s SAV Corporate Edition with Exchange email security. To make the upgrade process smoother, should the user wait to upgrade til the patch is out and if so, is it necessary to upgrade the licensing registration on the server so that the live updates keep coming down?

This tech volunteer has encountered a lot of HIPPA restrictions on disclosing data that have kept nonprofits from using his volunteer services. Anyone else out there encountering this issue and anyone have further ideas to deal with it?

Too many tools, not enough intertegration. That’s the trouble this TechSoup user is having with trying to manage multiple software tools for different functions. Do you know of a good solution that combines many tools in one software package?
